Description
Right after the Bible book of Joshua, the book of Judges tells the story of Israel’s division and conquest of the promised land. This was not completed in the time of Joshua, so the individual tribes were responsible to face the Canaanites and dispossess them. However, Biblical history shows that not all of the tribes were able to overcome the remaining Canaanites who inhabited the territories assigned to them. Some persevered and completed the work, but others were weak and failed to take charge of their areas. This led to very difficult consequences, for some Israelites lived in close proximity to the pagans and even practiced their cult worship, forgetting the true God and being dominated by them.
